York University is a public research university located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. York University was founded in 1959 as a non-denominational college under the York University Act. It is Canada’s fourth-largest university and has nearly 54,500 students, 7,000 professors and employees, and more than 325,000 alumni worldwide. York University Location
The university has two main branches, the Keele Campus and the Glendon Campus. The University Keele Campus is situated in the northern part of Ontario and borders York City. It is located over 457 acres of land and is the biggest post-secondary campus in Canada. The majority of faculties at York University, including Business, Environmental Studies, Law, Fine Arts, Education, Health, Engineering and Science, are situated at Keele Campus.
Glendon Campus is a liberal arts faculty based in the Lawrence Part neighbourhood of Toronto. It is the only university campus in Canada that allows students to take classes in both the official languages of Canada-English and French. Students at Keele and Glendon will utilise the facilities and attend classes at both campuses.
The university has a total of 9 undergraduate residential colleges, including Vanier Residence, Winters Residence, Founders Residence, Calumet Residence, Norman Bethune, Sting Residence, New College Residence, McLaughlin Residence and Glendon Residence, which are housed separately at Glendon Campus.
All 8 residential buildings on the Keele campus are run by the Center for Student Community and Leadership Development (SCLD). Each residence building is linked to one of the colleges listed above. Each residence building has Residence Dons, Residence Life Coordinators, and Night Porters.

York University ranked 401st – 500th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings and 456th in the US News & World Report for Global Universities. In the QS World University Rankings 2022, the university was ranked 494th in the world.

Awards And Scholarships
Scholarships are merit-based and recognise outstanding talent/promise or academic achievement as described by a minimum score of 80% for students starting high school, a minimum grade point average of 7.5; or a minimum grade average for graduate students; or top academic results, as the scholarship tests student marks in relation to peers.
Awards incorporate academic qualifications (minimum score of 70% for students attending high school, grade point average of 6.0 or grade point average of B) and non-academic standards such as community involvement, teamwork and financial needs. The awards are often displayed in the transcript of the students.
