Are you planning to move to the serene city of Nottingham? It is a city in the Midlands district of central England. It is well-known for its part in the Robin Hood legend, as well as the hilltop Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery, which has been restored many times after the mediaeval period. When you move to Nottingham, I would recommend you to visit the Galleries of Justice Museum that has crime-related exhibitions in the Lace Market district, which was once the centre of the world’s lace industry. Nottingham has two renowned universities, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham. Let’s find out more about both of them.

Nottingham Trent University

Campus and facilities | Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Trent University is one of the biggest colleges in the UK, with 28,000 students enrolled across three campuses, two in Nottingham and one just outside the area. Nottingham Trent University was established in 1843 and was granted full university status in 1992. According to the National Student Survey, 93 per cent of Nottingham Trent students will consider studying at the university, and it was designated ‘University of the Year’ by Times Higher Education in 2018.

Nottingham Trent University is quite famous for its Architecture and Design, Fashion, and Performing Arts programmes. It also houses one of the biggest law schools in the United Kingdom. The University even excels in athletics, with notable results in the British University and College Sport leagues. The University also secured one of the largest grants awarded to a post-1992 university in order to continue its research on cancer detection and treatment.

Nottingham Trent University’s International Office provides a variety of facilities to international students. Before the start of the semester, there is an airport pickup service from local airports, as well as a course induction for all candidates. International students who wish or need to develop their English will enrol in pre-sessional English classes that range in length from 6 to 30 weeks. Students can take foundation courses for undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Nottingham Trent International College.
