John Moores University Accommodation

Liverpool John Moores University, also known as LJMU, is a public academic university situated in the maritime city of Liverpool in northwestern England. It was established in 1823. Originally known as the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts, the university expanded by merging with other schools, including the City of Liverpool C.F. Mott Training College and the F.L.Calder School of Domestic Science, until becoming Liverpool Polytechnic in 1970.

The Liverpool Polytechnic was renamed Liverpool John Moores University by an Act of Parliament in 1992. Sir John Moores, a philanthropist and local businessman who donated to the University's predecessor organisations, was honoured with the term. The LJMU is now the 35th largest University in the UK in terms of the overall student population, with over 22,000 students enrolled. The University provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a variety of topics, the most common of which are Engineering, Architecture, and Sports Science.

John Moores University has three campuses: the City College, the IM Marsh Campus, and the Mount Pleasant Campus.
