What happened to UniAcco’s Trustpilot reviews? We’re answering that question openly. This report explains our experience with Trustpilot, what we did when our account was suspended, and how you can independently verify our track record through 1,000+ Google reviews, student video testimonials and other customer feedback. Because when it comes to choosing your home abroad, you deserve to see the evidence and decide for yourself.

Our Experience With Trustpilot: A Transparency Report

If you’ve looked us up on Trustpilot recently, you probably saw a suspended profile and a consumer warning. That’s not a great first impression, and we’d rather explain it ourselves than leave you guessing. This post covers what happened, what we did about it, and where you can check our track record.

Why We’re Sharing This

Picking a place to live abroad is a big deal. Maybe it’s your first time moving out, or maybe you’ve done it before and had a bad experience. Either way, you’re trusting a company you’ve never met with something that really matters.

We think about that a lot. For us, earning your trust comes down to a few simple things. We deliver the room and the experience we promised. When something goes wrong, we tell you and fix it. And we actually use your feedback.

So when something happens that could make you doubt us, we’d rather talk about it openly.

What Happened With Our Trustpilot Reviews

For a long time, Trustpilot worked well for us. Students shared honest feedback, good and bad, and it helped us get better. Then, in 2025, something changed, and we struggled to get a clear answer about why. Here’s the full timeline.

Six Years of Collecting Reviews the Same Way

We’ve been a paying Trustpilot customer since January 2020. For six years, we collected reviews the same way. We encouraged students to share their experience, and sometimes we sent a follow-up email as a reminder. That process never changed.

Positive Reviews Started Disappearing in 2025

In 2025, our 5-star reviews started disappearing. It wasn’t one or two at a time. We checked the profile one week, and the next week a whole batch would be gone only positive reviews were removed from our profile, and we never received a warning or an explanation. Our overall rating kept dropping, and we had no idea why.

We contacted our Trustpilot account manager to ask what was going on. Instead of an answer, they offered us an upgrade from our mid-tier plan to a much more expensive one.

That didn’t sit right with us. Paying more didn’t seem like the way to fix reviews being taken down, so we said no. We asked again why the reviews were being removed and whether we needed to change anything on our side. The removals kept happening, and the upgrade kept coming up.

How We Tried to Resolve It

In the meantime, we did what we could:

  • We put together documentation showing every removed review came from a real, verified student
  • We shared proof that each customer had agreed to leave a review
  • We asked Trustpilot to tell us exactly which reviews they considered fake, and why

We never got that information.

Why Trustpilot Suspended Our Account

In 2026, after weeks of this, Trustpilot suspended our account. The reason given was a “wrongful way of taking reviews,” and a Consumer Warning was added to our profile.

We would have happily changed our process if something was wrong. We just needed to know what it was. But we weren’t told which reviews were the problem, what made our approach “wrongful,” or what we should do differently. When we asked, the conversation simply stopped.

So we stopped putting energy into Trustpilot and started pointing students toward the places they already use to research housing.

Is UniAcco Safe to Book With?

We think so, but don’t just take our word for it. Read the Google reviews. Watch a few of the videos. See what students say about the city and property you’re looking at.

We’ve been doing this for years, and we’re not going anywhere. UniAcco is part of a wider group that includes UniScholars and UniCreds, and together we’re working to make studying abroad easier for every student.
