The University of Pennsylvania is a private Ivy League university and has consistently featured on the 4th position in Reuters’ list of the world’s most innovative universities list. Its recent innovations include researchers developing a way to “heal” metal at room temperature, a process modelled on the way bones repair themselves. The university was established in 1740 and since then has progressed rapidly, and has had many notable faculty and staff members, including 4 Nobel winners and four National Medal of Science recipients in the past 20 years.
