Best Places To Go Charity Shopping In London!

Cancer Research UK, Portobello Road

Portobello Road is well-known for its antiques, bric-a-brac and vintage shops, but it also houses one of the most famous charity shops in London. This Cancer Research branch offers a wide range of unique and hand-sourced items, including Prada shoes, Miu Miu dresses and more. The entire back section of the store is dedicated to vintage clothing and you’re likely to find some luxury designer items at a discount. Proceeds are naturally donated to cancer research, so get rummaging for a good cause!

Second Chance, Archway

This is one of the independent charity shops in London, run by the Archway Methodist Church, which divides its profits among a variety of charities. The charities range from local to international church projects. The shop has an assortment of items along with an eclectic mix of trinkets, books, crockery, collectables, vintage clothing, high street fashion, and much, much more. Second Chance also contributes to the Archway Drop-In Centre, a project that provides vulnerable members of the community with food, clothing, advice and companionship. It’s directly across the street from Archway tube station and just down the street from Highgate Cemetery.

Triad, Peckham

Triad is one of the best charity shops in London and also well-known among the young generation. Triad is a charity that works to reduce the negative environmental and social impacts of clothing production, consumption and disposal. They have 12 locations throughout London, but the most favourite one among youngsters is the Peckham location. It’s enormous and contains everything from vintage denim jackets to 1980s back-in-style dresses. All of the clothing found here is sustainably sourced, and they do regular restocks, so you might come back a week later and find that the stock has completely changed. If you don’t want to leave your house, they also have a Depop and an eBay store online.

Mary’s Living and Giving Shop, Blackheath

is the 17th location of Mary’s Living and Giving Shop, a charity initiative founded by retail legend Mary Portas to benefit Save the Children (an NGO). This is the perfect place for niche designer items, retro shoes, and everything that’s vintage. Each branch of the shop has been meticulously curated, with clothing sourced straight from independent and ethical producers, and every single penny from the clothes you buy goes directly towards changing the future for children.

Octavia Foundation, North Kensington

The Octavia Foundation collaborates with other organisations to help people in Central and West London who are suffering from illness, social isolation, low income or unemployment. They have a wide range of high-quality donated goods, including designer and vintage pieces, so this is the place to go if you want to find some true hidden treasures. They also have a strong reputation for selling fantastic homeware items such as candles, crockery and kitchenware which is great if you want to spruce up your apartment.

Shop From Crisis, Finsbury Park

Shop from Crisis located between Finsbury Park and Finsbury Park station. There is much more to this enormously humongous shop than just being one of the best charity shops in London.  The shop serves as a gathering place for diverse community members and a coffee shop to hang out and socialize. Shop From Crisis offers a wide variety of goods in addition to used vintage apparel and vinyl records, including handmade furniture, high-fashion brands and much more. The money generated here goes straight to Crisis, whose goal is to help homeless individuals get off the streets and advocate for the reforms required to end homelessness for good.

Retromania, Pimlico

Are you searching for antique clothing, memorabilia, menswear, headgear, bags, scarves and accessories? Then, Retromania is the stop for you. This Pimlico location is stuffed to the gills with glimmering jewellery, Hermes scarves, colourful shirts, magnificent ball costumes and much more, with everything that is reasonably priced. It is the best location to splurge on recycled designer products, considering that the money earned at the store goes straight to FARA, a nonprofit organisation that supports disadvantaged and vulnerable children in Romania.
