Aberystwyth University Accommodation

Aberystwyth University is a Welsh public research university located in the town of Aberystwyth. Aberystwyth was one of the original founding members of the erstwhile federal University of Wales. Over 8,000 students are enrolled in the university's three academic faculties and 17 departments. It was founded in 1872 as University College Wales, Aberystwyth, and changed its name to University College of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1894 after becoming a founding member of the University of Wales. The institution changed its name again in the mid-1990s, becoming the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. It was the first institution to be selected "University of the Year for Teaching Quality'' for two years in a row by The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide in 2019. It is the world's first institution to be designated as a Plastic Free University for single-use plastic goods.

Extensive Faculties: The University's academic departments, as well as the Arts Centre, International English Centre, and Music Centre are organised in three faculties which are Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Physical Sciences and Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences. The university consists of the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences, Aberystwyth Business School, Department of Computer Science, Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, Department of Law and Criminology, Department of International Politics, Department of Modern Languages and the Department of Physics. 

Massive Campus: Aberystwyth University comprises Penglais, Llanbadarn, Goggerddan And the School of Art, Edward Davies Building. The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway

On August 1, 1896, the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway opened. It is the second longest funicular railway in the British Isles, behind the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, with a length of 778 feet (237 metres). The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway has been a Grade II listed building since November 1987. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, the cliff railway was popular with visitors but during and after the Second World War, passenger numbers declined significantly. Aberystwyth Castle

Aberystwyth Castle is an Edwardian fortification in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Mid Wales, that is classified as Grade I. It was erected in the late 13th century in reaction to the First Welsh War, and it replaced an older stronghold a mile to the south. The building work of this castle started during the First Welsh War in 1277. The inner ward was built in a diamond-shaped concentric castle, with a twin D-shaped gatehouse keep and mural towers at each corner. National Library of Wales

Aberystwyth's National Library of Wales is the country's national legal deposit library and one of the Welsh Government's supported institutions.
