Staffordshire is a landlocked county in the West of England. The main settlement in Staffordshire is Stoke-on-Trent, which is governed independently from the majority of the county as an autonomous unitary authority. Apart from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire is split into the districts of Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Newcastle-under-Lyme, South Staffordshire, Staffordshire, Staffordshire Moorlands, and Tamworth.

Staffordshire provides a comprehensive scheme of eight independent schools. Most secondary schools are from 11–16 or 18, but two in Staffordshire Moorlands and South Staffordshire are from 13–18. History

Founded in 1914, Staffordshire University is a government university providing a variety of undergraduate, graduate, vocational, and distance learning programmes. The university is split into six academic departments, including Computer and Emerging Media, Performing Arts and Engineering, Health and Social Care, Law, Policy & Forensics, Staffordshire Business School and Life Sciences, and Education.

Staffordshire University is a public research university located in Staffordshire, England. It has one primary campus in the city of Stoke-on-Trent and three other campuses; Stafford, Lichfield, and Shrewsbury. The primary campus is in the town of Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent. In 1988, the school changed its name to Staffordshire Polytechnic, and in 1992 it formally became Staffordshire University.
