The name is Muskan, so probably was destined to spread smiles wherever I go. Writing is something which has grown on me with each passing day. Follow your passion in saying is a cliché but in doing is serious fun. So here I am to engage with my passion and maybe spread some smiles along the way.

Bristol is spoiled for choice when it comes to cool coffee shops, with a plethora of independent establishments serving up the best, locally made blends and delectable treats. Here’s our pick of the best cafes in Bristol to enjoy when you’re here.

So, let’s start with Bristol’s best cafes

Hart’s Bakery

Hart’s Bakery, established by Bristolian sourdough queen Laura Hart in 2012, is the Temple Quarter’s go-to for top-notch caffeine (courtesy of local roasters Extract Coffee) and on-the-go breakfast, with a large communal table that’s ideal for more leisurely pit stops. When sampling their sourdough bread, breakfast muffins, and flaky sausage rolls, watch the baking activity happen in the open kitchen – and get first dibs on the fresh batch of cinnamon buns.

Baristas | Best Coffee Shops Bristol

Baristas is a coffee tradition in Bristol, having been in its current location on Victoria Street since 2000. Baristas buzzes with activity from the moment it opens, supplying office staff and creatives with the all-important first caffeine hit of the day, thanks to its venue. Keep an eye out for changing guest coffees to compliment Baristas’ long-running house mix. It is definitely one of the amazing cafes in Bristol.

Source is known for its independent food hall and hearty lunch menus, but it’s at breakfast where the restaurant’s dedication to seasonal sourcing shines through. This is a café that recognises who its vendors are and cares for its products. And the evidence is right there on your plate, in the form of a perfectly poached egg. The coffee (from Extract) is excellent. This is one of the best cool cafes in Bristol.

Boston Tea Party

While there are two Boston Tea Party locations in Bristol, we’ll focus on the one on Park Street because of its convenient position near some great shops. This is a perfect place to refill in the middle of the shopping ride. While it seems tiny from the outside, it has a large upstairs and a lovely garden area for the spring and summer months. This is a must-visit coffee shop with excellent teas, coffees, smoothies, and drinks, as well as a delectable breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu.

Small St. Espresso | Coffee Shops Bristol

Small St. Espresso makes up for its lack in size with tasty roasted coffee. You’ll get a life-changing cup of Joe in this small coffee store, which is operated by real coffee connoisseurs. Drop by for a catch-up with mates or a spot of reading – you’ll find a tranquil moment here and it is going to be one of your favourite cafes in Bristol.

Bakers & Co

It can be daunting to choose where to eat on Gloucester Road because there are so many various cafes in Bristol – but locals know that Bakers & Co is the place to go. Hanging planters, wooden chairs, and smooth, white walls set the mood from the start. The food and coffee are also delicious. Smashed avocado on sourdough, huevos rancheros, and the delectable ‘morning toast’ – citrus and cinnamon sugar torrijas, smoked bacon or baked apple, crème fraîche, toasted almonds, and maple syrup – are all must-try dishes.

Playground Coffee House | Best Cafes In Bristol

And if it’s just to rest on a swing, you can go to (the appropriately named) Playground Coffee! Yes, swing seats are available at this café! Not to mention delicious desserts, a wide range of beverages, and tasteful decor. This coffee shop is also a bar that is open until 11 p.m. and serves delicious coffee-based drinks!

Little Victories

Little Victories is the younger sister of the aforementioned Small St. Espresso, but it is a prominent coffee shop in its own right, with far more room than its sibling. The interior is sleek, with the menu tiled behind the bar, hanging plants from the high ceiling, and wooden seating. It’s located in the newly opened Cargo area. Friends meeting up over flat whites should expect to see creative types typing away on laptops. For some evenings, Little Victories stays open longer and offers delicious espresso martinis and cheese boards, among other delicacies.

Tincan Coffee Co.

On Bedminster’s bustling North Street, there is a slew of coffee shops, but Tincan is the best. Amongst the cafes in Bristol, the coffee shop, which is located on a corner next to a pizzeria, is furnished with an eclectic Brooklyn vibe and offers tasty coffee, as well as a variety of baked goods and a basic brunch menu. The welcoming service is the icing on the cake of a fantastic coffee experience.

Full Court Press | Cool Cafes In Bristol

Full Court Press, located just off busy Corn Street, is one of the fantastic cafes in Bristol with a brilliant atmosphere that wouldn’t look out of place in fashionable Shoreditch. For too many various varieties, roasts, and milk to choose from, it may be difficult to determine what you want to drink. Fortunately, the team is on hand to assist you – and they know pretty much everything there is to know about how to drink a certain form of coffee. This is the place to go if you’re searching for a nice place to get your caffeine fix.
