If you are new to the city and looking for things to do in Sydney with your friends or family, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself around town: from exploring historic sites like Hyde Park Barracks Museum to enjoying some great views from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Here is a list of things you can do to explore the city. 

Go On A Tour Of The Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is one of the best places to visit in Sydney. The beautiful building that was designed by architects – Jørn Utzon and Peter Hall. There are many options available, including tours focused on architecture or art, but if you’re looking for something more general, there’s also an introductory tour that covers everything from history to acoustics. The view from within an opera house window overlooking Sydney Harbour is one of Australia’s most famous views. 

Do The Coastal Walk From Bondi To Coogee

If you’re looking for a way to spend a day exploring the city and enjoying the outdoors, do the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee. The walk is about 4km long and takes about 2 hours to complete. It follows along Bondi Beach, where there are plenty of places to stop for photos or lunch. There are also a variety of cafes along this stretch if you want to take a break and grab some food before continuing on your journey. This route has lots of stairs that lead down into rock pools or up onto cliffs overlooking the ocean with spectacular views in every direction!

Eat At The Grounds Of Alexandria

Eating at The Grounds of Alexandria is one of the best things to do in Sydney. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a view of Sydney Harbour. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor area, and an indoor seating, but it’s nice to sit outside when the weather is good. They have a wide range of food and drinks available, including breakfast dishes such as eggs benedict or avocado toast, lunch options like salads and sandwiches, as well as dinner options like steak or fish & chips with sides like garlic potatoes or veggies. They also serve desserts such as Belgian chocolate cake or crème brûlée ice cream!

Take A Ferry To Manly For The Day

Manly is a great place to visit. It’s close to the city, and there are many things to do in Manly. You can get there by ferry, which takes about 30 – 40 minutes for a one-way trip. If you have time, we recommend taking the ferry and spending the day exploring this beachside town. At Manly, you can eat some delicious food, take a walk on the beach, explore water sports like scuba diving or snorkelling, or play your favourite sport on the beach. There are a lot of things to do for you to chill, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.   

Bridge Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is the most iconic landmark in Australia. It’s also one of the tallest bridges in the world and has been a symbol of Sydney since it was completed in 1932. Climbing up to the top of this bridge is a thrilling experience and one of the best things to do in Sydney. The climb is challenging, but it’ll be worth it when you get there! The view from the top of the bridge gives you an aerial view of the entire city, which is truly beautiful.  

Eat A Burger At Down N’ Out In World Square

Down N’ Out is a small burger joint in World Square, which is next to the Harbour Bridge. They make made-to-order burgers and they’re delicious! The staff is friendly, so if you don’t know what kind of meat is on your burger or how to eat it, they’ll be able to help you out. Prices are reasonable too: an average meal costs around $15 AUD (around $10 USD). The restaurant itself isn’t enormous—there’s only room for about 20 people at any given time—so there may be a wait before being seated. However, if you have time set aside for lunch during your trip, then Down N’ Out should definitely be on your list of things to do in Sydney!

Have Dim Sims At Din Tai Fung, Darling Harbour

If you’re a fan of dim sum, this place is for you. Din Tai Fung is a chain of restaurants that specialises in xiao long bao (soup dumplings), one of the most popular dishes in Taiwan. They also serve other types of dumplings, noodle dishes and rice sets. Din Tai Fung is present in over 7 locations in Sydney, you can choose to eat at the one nearest to you. 

Visit The Historic Hyde Park Barracks Museum

If you are looking for things to do in Sydney, a visit to The Hyde Park Barracks Museum is a must. It is in the historic barracks, which were built in 1819 and were used as a prison from the 1830s until the early 20th century. The museum houses exhibits, related to Australian history, including Aboriginal culture, convict transportation and colonial life. Visitors can also tour an old-style cell block that illustrates how convicts lived.

Have Pancakes On The Rocks At Circular Quay

Circular Quay is the location of Sydney’s most iconic harbour views. There are several ways to get there, but the easiest is via train from Central Station. The trip takes about 20 minutes and costs $5 for a single ticket or $11 for an all-day pass. Once you arrive at Circular Quay, you’ll find plenty to do and see: take in a show at the Opera House, enjoy some delicious food at one of the many restaurants along Hickson Road, or just relax on one of its beaches (there are several within walking distance). For something fun and different, stop by Pancakes on Rocks. This is where Captain Cook first claimed Australia as a British colony back in 1770!

Take A Trip To The Blue Mountains

If you are looking for some adventure, hiking in The Blue Mountains is one of the best things to do in Sydney. The Blue Mountains are a wonderful place to visit. It’s a great place to hike, with some amazing views. Although this region can be visited year-round, the best time to visit the Blue Mountains is when the temperature is not scorching hot or freezing, i.e. from September to October. You can also relax or do some shopping. It’s also one of the top tourist attractions in Sydney.
