Should I book accommodation near University of Southampton before visa approval?

Hi, I am Arito Pal, and I am currently in West Bengal. I have applied to the University of Southampton. My visa is yet to be approved, but could I book my student accommodation before that? I am looking for an ensuite room that is near my university, so I wouldn’t have to travel much. I’d like my accommodation to come with a large window.
