Brunel University London is a public research university located in Uxbridge, west London, United Kingdom and often mentioned as a British plate glass university. Dubbed after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, it was founded in 1966. A royal charter was awarded in June 1966 to Brunel College of Advanced Technology and became Brunel University. 

Its is organised into three colleges and three major research institutes, a structure adopted in August 2014. It has over 12,900 students and 2,500 staff. It has three constituent Academic Colleges: Arts and Social Sciences and College of Health and Life Sciences, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, College of Business.

Brunel university won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2011. Brunel University ranking is within the top 400 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and QS World University Rankings in the year 2020. It is a part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, and Universities UK.
