House Policies

Before Commencement (a) If I am unsuccessful in my application for admission to Macquarie University and I inform RMC as soon as reasonably practicable that my application was unsuccessful, I will only pay the $150 administration fee. (b) If I notify RMC in writing of the termination of my residency more than four weeks before the commencement of the initial term or the commencement of a further term, I will forfeit the initial Term Fee in advance as set out in the Initial Compulsory Rates (being the deposit on the first week of Term Fees). (c) If I notify RMC in writing of the termination of my residency less than four weeks before commencement of the initial term or the commencement of a further term, a late notification fee of up to $1,000 (at RMC’s discretion) will apply, in addition to the forfeiture of the Term Fee. After Commencement (a) If I notify RMC in writing of the termination of my residency after commencement of the Contract term but before the end of the initial term or a further term, I will pay the Term Fees for the full Contract term, or until RMC is able to let the room to a new resident, whichever occurs earlier. This is a genuine pre-estimate by RMC of the loss that it will suffer due to me terminating my residency after the commencement of the term. (b) If I am expelled or suspended from RMC, I understand that I will be charged four weeks’ Term Fees from the date of notice of expulsion or suspension (even if I am instructed to leave RMC or vacate my room immediately).
