The famous Marais district is in the 4th arrondissement, between the wonderful Place des Vosges, the Republique square and the Hotel the Ville, Paris' City Hall. The Marais is known to be a trendy area with a number of shops and restaurant which make its day and night life very intense. Nevertheless it is an authentical place where Parisian people enjoy to live. It has traditionally been the Juif district and, more recently, has also been adopted by the gay community.
