The Rhineland-Palatinate capital of Mainz is approx. 15 kilometers north of the city (linear distance), the county seat Alzey is approx. 10 kilometers south of Wörrstadt. Wörrstadt belongs to the Rommersheim district, which is located in the southwestern part of the city.Wörrstadt is surrounded by the typical Rhine-Hessian cultural landscape: intensive wine-growing is practiced in the Gunträum, agriculture in the less well-exposed areas. The Rhine-Hessian landscape is largely cleared out, and the natural vegetation is hardly or not at all available. Wörrstadt offers a special feature for Rheinhessen: With the Neuborn, the city has one of the few forest areas in the region.
