Located in Glasgow, Scotland, the University of Glasgow is a public research university. It is the 4th oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s four ancient universities and was founded by papal bull in 1451. Along with the universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and St Andrews, this university was part of the Scottish Enlightenment during the 18th century.
Following universities of the pre-modern era, Glasgow initially educated students primarily hailing from wealthy backgrounds. It, however, became a leader in British higher education in the 19th century by providing for the students from the growing urban and commercial middle class also. Glasgow University helped students by preparing them for professions such as civil service, law, teaching, medicine, and the church. It also taught smaller but growing numbers of students for careers in science and engineering. - Glasgow uni law entry requirements
Both academic and English language accolades are required (if English happens to not be your first language) for every individual programme listed on the ‘Postgraduate Taught degree programmes A-Z’.
- Providing the references
To complete your application, the uni will need one referral.
There are 2 options for you to submit your reference as a part of your application. Students can upload a document as part of their application, or can enter in their referee’s contact details, and the uni will get in touch with them to request a reference.
- After submitting your application form
Students must provide details of one reference during their application form. If another reference needs to be added after you have submitted your application form, it must be done through the ‘Applicant Self Service uploading documents function’.
If referees would prefer to provide confidential references directly to the university, then the reference will be accepted via email, from the referee’s official university or business email account to pgadmissions@glasgow.ac.uk these will be added to the student’s application.
