Edinburgh University Scientist Develops Incredible AI Tech
Scottish scientists have created an "electronic skin" that imitates the sense of touch in humans.
A lab-developed stretchable e-skin, made of silicon material, is utilized in soft robots to grant them a degree of self-awareness akin to that of humans and animals.
Experts anticipate that this could provide a safer and more realistic engagement between people and robots.
According to Dr. Francesco Giorgio-Serchi, a university lecturer in industrial robotics, the aim is to eliminate the inflexible design approach typically associated with conventional robotics.
